A Tennessee Honey Cocktail in a glass garnished with a lime wedge

Smooth-drinking and mildly sweet, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey is a blend of Old No.7 Tennessee Whiskey and a proprietary honey liqueur.

Keep it chilled and serve neat or on the rocks. Or better yet, try it in an easy-to-make cocktail.

Making cocktails with Tennessee Honey

The recipe below is a Southern twist on a Moscow Mule, combining Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey with freshly-squeezed lime juice and ginger beer.

If you want to branch out a bit, here are a couple of easy variations (courtesy Jack Daniel’s):

  • Tennessee Honey Lemonade: Add 1 ounce of Tennessee Honey, 3/4 ounce brandy, and 1 ounce of sour mix to a tall ice-filled glass. Stir and top with lemon-lime soda and garnish with a cherry.
  • Tennessee Honey Tea: Add 1 ounce of Tennessee Honey, 1/2 ounce of cinnamon schnapps, 1/2 ounce triple sec, and 3 ounces of cooled, brewed tea to an ice-filled mixing glass. Shake and strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Jack’s Honey Smash: Add 2 ounces of Tennessee Honey, 6 to 8 fresh mint leaves, 1/2 ounce lemon juice, and 1/2 ounce simple syrup to a shaker partially filled with ice cubes. Shake vigorously and strain into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.

  1. I saw somewhere a recipe with jd honey, cinnamon coke cranberry simple syrup. I didn’t get the entire recipe but I’d love to have it for New Years

  2. I tried a drink called Tennessee mule: ingredients included jd honey, orange squeeze and bitters. It was fabulous, I just think I’m missing something. Does anyone know the correct measurements?

    1. Hi Chris,
I have a couple of questions for you. By “orange squeeze” do you mean freshly squeezed orange juice? Also, there are a lot of variations on a classic “mule” cocktail but they almost always contain ginger beer. Could that be your missing flavor?

  3. I was at Allstate Arena in Rosemont Illinois for a concert, and had a drink that was made with JD honey and I want to say lemonade, but not 100% sure. Does anyone maybe know what it might have been?

    1. Hi Jennifer,
I’m not sure what the drink you had may have been, but you can either try the “Jack’s Honey Lemonade” listed in this post, or give a ratio of 1 part JD Tennessee Honey to 3 parts of your favorite lemonade a try.

  4. I had a drink at Joe’s crab shack. It was with Jack Daniel’s Honey I think maybe ginger ale also sliced peaches and fresh mint. Would love to have this recipe.

  5. I had dinner at a longhorn steakhouse the other night and had a drink I forget what It was called but it had Jack Daniels Tennessee honey. Ginger ale and black rasberry lemonade. It was amazing and I would love to know how it was made.

    1. Hi Tyler,
That sounds like a great cocktail. I searched a little to see if I could find a recipe, but nothing turned up. We’ll try to experiment a little in the near future. If you’re subscribed to the comments on this post, you should be notified if we come up with a version that works.

  6. Just made my one with a tea spoon of honey, 30 ml of lemon juice, a cinnamon stick and granished with some strawberries. 🙂

  7. I invented this drink in December 2013:
    ‘Sweet Madame Blue’
    3 parts Pineau des Charentes
    2 parts Honey Jack Daniels
    1 part Blue Curacao
Shake with ice and strain into a daquiri glass…or summertime in lots of crushed ice.

  8. I was watching Restaurant Stakeout where they mixed a drink using jack honey and its delicious!

    1 shot jd honey
    1 shot triple sec
    1 shot southern comfort
    orange juice
shake, pour over ice, and add a splash of grenadine!

They never said what it’s called so my husband named it the Honey Butterfly!
