Lynne Webb

Meet Lynne Webb, the primary recipe developer here at MGC. With more than four decades of kitchen experience under her belt, cooking isn’t just a hobby for her, it’s a way of life.

Background

Lynne began dabbling in the kitchen at the age of thirteen when her mom got a full time job and needed a hand getting dinner on the table.

She owes much of her passion for food and cooking prowess to her mom, Barbara, a gifted and enthusiastic home cook. Barb loved exploring global cuisines and learning new cooking techniques, and she passed that adventurous culinary spirit on to Lynne.

Blogging Philosophy

Armed with decades of experience in the kitchen, Lynne, along with her daughter Erika, launched MyGourmetConnection in 2008 to share their expertise and love of food with others.

She is a dedicated food blogger who believes in a varied and balanced cooking routine that avoids processed foods and diet fads. Her approach to blogging is meticulous, thoroughly testing her recipes to ensure quality and devoting the time necessary to provide her readers with accurate, trustworthy insights on the cooking techniques and ingredients she shares.

She also believes that every homecooked meal deserves at least a little effort. So, while MGC has its fair share of quick and easy weeknight recipes, the overall collection is geared to folks who, like Lynne, enjoy cooking and take pride in putting a flavorful, well-crafted meal on the table every time they step into the kitchen.

More About Lynne

  • Lynne was born and spent her early years in Philadelphia, watching The French Chef and The Galloping Gourmet with her mom and celebrating special occasions in classic Philly restaurants like Bookbinder’s and Helen Sigel Wilson’s.
  • In 1970, the family moved to Rhode Island, and in 1976, she exchanged vows with her husband Richard. Their daughter Erika was born in 1986, and in 1993, a business opportunity brought them all to the beautiful city of Sarasota, Florida. These days, however, they call Central Florida home.
  • In the 23 years she spent in New England, Lynne developed a love for fresh seafood which is reflected in the popular fish and seafood recipes here on MyGourmetConnection.
  • Lynne and Rick are true animal lovers and currently share their home with three cats and a dachshund, who, at almost 17, is the lady of the manor. They’re not particularly strong-willed when they run across a pet needing a good home, and at one point, their furry brigade included five cats and four dogs!
  • When Lynne’s not busy whipping up something in her own kitchen, she enjoys going out for a bite. As a big fan of Asian cuisine, she really enjoys casual meals at a variety of local Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese restaurants. She also loves the occasional splurge at Orlando’s fine dining establishments.
