Hi there – I’m Lynne Webb, the primary recipe developer here at MGC.
Cooking isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s a way of life. I have decades of kitchen experience under my belt and have spent countless hours reading and researching about all things food.
I began dabbling in the kitchen as a young teenager after my mother got a full time job and needed a hand getting dinner on the table. I owe much of my passion for food to my mom, Barbara. She was a gifted and enthusiastic home cook who loved experimenting with new ingredients, learning new cooking techniques, and exploring global cuisines. She passed that adventurous culinary spirit on to me.
My Blogging Philosophy
My daughter Erika and I launched MyGourmetConnection in 2008 to share our love of food online in the form of gourmet food reviews (hence the blog name). However, it turned out that our readers were far more interested in the recipes we were sharing, and that’s how our recipe collection began to grow.
I’ve always believed in a varied and balanced cooking routine that avoids processed foods and diet fads, and I truly feel that every homecooked meal deserves some effort. The recipe collection here at MGC is geared toward folks like me who enjoy cooking and take pride in putting a flavorful, well-crafted meal on the table every time they step into the kitchen.
My current projects include creating new recipes and refreshing our older ones with new photos and insights.

More About Me
Born in Philadelphia, I spent my early years watching The French Chef and The Galloping Gourmet with my mom, celebrating special occasions in classic Philly restaurants like Bookbinder’s and Helen Sigel Wilson’s, and enjoying fabulous holiday feasts with the Hungarian side of my family in Phoenixville, PA.
In 1970, our family moved to Rhode Island, where I later met and married my husband, Richard, and we had our daughter Erika. In 1993, a business opportunity took us south to the beautiful city of Sarasota, Florida. These days, however, we’re calling Central Florida home.
In the 23 years I spent in New England, I developed a deep love for fresh fish and seafood and an appreciation for Italian-American cuisine. You’ll find evidence of my enthusiasm for both here on the blog.

Other Interests
Rick and I are true animal lovers and have shared our home with 15 cats and 6 dogs over the years. When I’m not busy whipping up something in the kitchen, I enjoy reading (mysteries, psychological thrillers, and horror), a relaxing glass of wine, and going out for a bite so someone else can do the dishes for a change. As a big fan of Asian cuisine, I really love the casual meals served at the great, independently owned Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese restaurants near home.
My Favorite Recipes
Here are a few of my favorites from the blog. Two are a nod to my Hungarian heritage, and two to my years spent in New England.
