Classic Kahlua Cocktails

Originating in Veracruz, Mexico in the 1930s, Kahlua is a rich-flavored coffee liqueur made with 100% Arabica beans and sugarcane (aka rum). Here are three of the most popular cocktails featuring Kahlua - the White Russian, the Black Russian and the Sombrero.

White Russian

  • Ingredients:
  • 1-1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur)
  • Light cream

Preparation:
Fill an old fashioned glass with ice. Add the vodka and Kahlua and stir. Top with light cream and serve.

Black Russian
  • Ingredients:
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur)
  • Preparation:
    Fill an old fashioned glass with ice. Add the vodka and Kahlua and stir.

Sombrero
  • Ingredients:
  • 2 ounces Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur)
  • Milk or light cream
  • Preparation:
    Fill an old fashioned glass with ice. Add the Kahlua, top with milk or cream and stir.
