More About Tom

  • When not helping us here at MyGourmetConnection, Tom operates a freelance photography business that began as a product, food, and drink studio and branched out to include photographing pets in their natural environment. His wife Erika is his partner in this endeavor, and you can see their work at Hot Dog! Pet Photography.
  • On a personal level, Tom geeks out over games and pro wrestling. When he’s not enjoying the amazing food made for MyGourmetconnection, his guilty pleasure is fast food. And his music collection? Well, let’s just say it’s a rollercoaster ride of genres.

Foodie Files

Tom’s thoughts on food and life, plus some yummy secrets.

What food from your childhood would instantly make you hungry today?

Although I wasn’t a huge seafood fan as a child, the big New England Clam Boils my grandparents would make are so memorable. When I was younger, I would mostly stick to the non-seafood items, but the thought of all that delicious New England seafood now makes me VERY hungry!

What’s a food that you absolutely love, even if it’s not considered particularly gourmet?

Tuna noodle casserole, specifically the version that utilizes cream of mushroom soup. I constantly joke that we should make an “elevated” take on it, but I know I am very much in the minority of people that enjoy it.

What’s a ’90s snack or treat that you secretly wish would make a comeback?

This is a tough one because there are so many good snacks. I’d love it if Fruitopia came back, specifically the Strawberry Passion Awareness. It was everywhere and then just seemingly vanished.
