Our watermelon "basilito" cocktail is a refreshing twist on a traditional mojito made with muddled watermelon, fresh basil, lime and white rum.

Ingredients

  • 5 or 6 small chunks fresh watermelon
  • 4 large basil leaves, torn into pieces
  • 1 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 1-1/2 ounces white rum
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce grenadine
  • Basil sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly muddle the watermelon and basil together with the lime juice in the bottom of a mixing glass.
  2. Transfer to a rocks glass and top with ice. Shake the remaining ingredients with ice and strain into the glass with the watermelon. Garnish with a sprig of basil.
