Strawberry Basil Rickey
This refreshing cocktail combines fresh basil with gin and a splash of strawberry-lime hard cider to create a unique variation on a classic Gin Rickey.

- 1–1/2 ounces gin
- 4 to 6 fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- Strawberry-lime hard cider (see notes)
- Muddle the basil leaves together with the gin, lime juice and simple syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, shake vigorously and strain into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. Top with the cider and garnish with a sprig of basil.
About the cider:
Look for either Rekorderlig and Kopparberg brand ciders in your local liquor store. We’ve used them both with great results.
