DIY Table Decor: Thanksgiving
Easy-To-Make Thanksgiving Table Decor
Create a casual yet elegant, wine-themed Thanksgiving table with just a little effort and a few easy-to-find products from the craft store.
Make a simple table runner with a piece of burlap fabric from your local craft store. It can be used with or without a tablecloth and you can opt to finish the edges or not. It all depends on the look you want to achieve.
Make centerpieces from small craft store pumpkins and fresh flowers. Cut off the tops of the pumpkins, set a glass or small vase inside to hold water, then trim and arrange your flowers to fit.
Fill a clear glass hurricane candle holder with wine corks. Glue on a ribbon and add a simple, “Give Thanks” message printed on card stock.
Fill in around your centerpieces with assorted candle holders. We used small, amber glass hurricanes with tea lights and re-purposed wine bottles (see notes) with gold and green votives inside.
If you like the looks of our re-purposed wine bottles, they’re pretty easy to make. Here’s a “how-to” link: How to Cut Glass Wine Bottles
Or, if you’d rather buy them, try searching Etsy for “wine bottle candle holders.”
Dress up your place settings with metallic charger plates and print out a copy of your menu for each of your guests. Make it extra-fancy by wrapping the menu with a bit of ribbon and tucking a small silk flower on the side.
