Absinthe, the purportedly favorite liquor of Picasso, Poe and Hemingway, is available in the United States again after being banned since 1912. The unique herbal flavor of absinthe is derived from fennel, star anise, coriander, nutmeg, juniper and others. The story of absinthe is an interesting one. Cocktail Recipes Using Absinthe Mata Hari
1 oz Absinthe Mata Hari
1/2 tablespoon sugar
3 oz. lemon juice
Shake well and pour into cocktail glass.
2 oz of cranberry juice
1 oz of orange juice
1 oz of Absinthe Mata Hari
Pour carefully into a cocktail glass half filled with ice.
1 shot Absinthe Mata Hari
1 shot vodka
1 can Red Bull
Shake ingredients with ice and strain into ice filled collins glass.
1 oz of Absinthe Mata Hari
2 oz of cranberry juice
1 oz of tonic water
1 slice of lemon
Shake well and pour into a cocktail glass.
1-1/2 shots Absinthe Mata Hari
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 teaspoon sugar
1 egg white
seltzer
Shake with ice and strain into a highball glass and fill with seltzer.
1 oz of white rum
1 oz of Grenadine
1 oz of Absinthe Mata Hari
1 oz of Apricot brandy
3 oz of orange juice
1/3 Peppermint Schnapps
2/3 Absinthe Mata Hari
Stir and pour into cocktail glass.
1 shot Absinthe Mata Hari
Champagne
Pour Absinthe into flute glass over ice. Top up with Champagne.
1 shot Creme de Mure
1 shot Absolut Mandrin
1 shot champagne
1 shot Absinthe Mata Hari
Pour carefully into a cocktail glass half filled with ice.
1/2 oz Absinthe Mata Hari
1/2 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
2 tsp lemon juice
1 egg
1 tsp sugar
nutmeg
Shake ingredients well with ice. Strain into a pre-chilled whisky glass. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
