D'Vine Divas at Food Network's South Beach Wine and Food Festival

D'Vine Divas at South Beach Wine and Food FestivalThe 2008 Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival (Feb. 21 - 24, 2008) promises to be absolutely "D'Vine." The festival will kick off with the D'Vine Divas dinner hosted at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL on Thursday, February 21.

This festival highlight is a multi-course meal prepared by talented chefs and fine winemakers, hosted by Samantha Shanken of Wine Spectator magazine, master sommelier Laura De Pasquale and Yvonne Roberts of the Biltmore Cellar Club. The dinner includes a silent auction which benefits the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.

Shanken, who has had Type 1 Diabetes for 20 years, said, "D'Vine Divas pays tribute to the passion and creativity of women in wine and food. This combination of amazing cuisine, talented chefs and beautiful wines will surely make the event an unforgettable success."

The D'Vine Divas dinner starts with a cocktail reception, featuring hors d'ouerves provided by Talula & Creative Tastes Catering, Ortanique on the Mile and Maria Frumkin, a Top Chef Miami guest judge. The after-party is hosted by Grand Marnier and Cigar Aficionado. The menu and featured winemakers are as follows:

First Course

Winter Citrus Marinated Albacore with Fennel and Picholine Olives
Chef: Tracie des Jardins (Jardiniere, San Francisco)

Second Course

Crayfish Etouffee with Creole Eggplant Timbale
Chef: Susan Spicer (Bayona Restaurant, New Orleans)

Third Course

Braised Veal Cheeks with Spring Vegetables, Risotto Carbonara & Black Truffle Butter
Chef: Suzanne Goin (Lucques, L.A.)

Dessert Course

Yellow, White, Green, Black
Chef: Elizabeth Falkner (Citizen Cake, San Francisco)
